LOU-HOME, Inc. Receives Grant from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund

Funding to support home improvement for low- and moderate-income families

LOU-HOME, Inc. has received a $3,500 grant from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund to support its first-time home buyer toolkits program.

Michael Billingsley, executive director of LOU-HOME, Inc., said the funds would be used to create 20 first-time home buyer toolkits for low- and moderate-income families in the Lafayette, Oxford and University community. Kits include a set of basic tools, a drill set, a reference book on “do-it-yourself” home improvement and information on LOU-HOME and community resources.

“We are deeply appreciative of the funding we received,” said Billingsley. “It means so much that the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund believes in our mission, and we hope our initiative will make the families we serve in the Oxford community proud.”

In both rural and urban settings, the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund supports hundreds of important organizations and programs in the communities where they operate with funding, time, expertise and resources. Weyerhaeuser made its first charitable donation in 1903 and has provided more than $243 million in grants through its formal giving program, which was established in 1948.
